DCAMU: Movie – 12 | Constantine: City of Demons

Constantine: City of Demons is one of the goriest films in the DCAMU and this is the twelfth movie in the series. Trigger Warning: If torture, gore, and bloodshed trigger you don’t watch this movie and kindly avoid it.

This film primarily focuses on Constantine, his past, and how he feels terrible about it. His old friend Chas comes to see him about her daughter, who is comatose and the doctors can’t figure out why. Constantine, the master of Magic and Dark Magic, seeks reason and recognizes something. He then invites Nightmare Nurse to help her heal.

Constantine is asked to visit a Manor, and from there we learn about Constantine’s past and who is playing the cards. Did Constantine actually save the girl? What happened in the past to cause him to have Nightmares? To find out the answers, watch the movie.

Despite the fact that Constantine was introduced in the Justice League: Dark film, we get a closer look at him, his life, his past, and the powers he possesses here. Constantine’s determination and street smarts are unparalleled. He can even stand up to Dr. Fate, who is a magical god in his own right. In this film, we see a demonstration of this.

This film is not your typical superhero film; instead, it delves deeper into the magical realm of the DC Universe and introduces us to some of the Demons who live there. Some of the images are extremely disturbing, even though they are animated. If that was the intention of the creators, I believe they succeeded.

I enjoyed the movie and didn’t have many complaints and really liked how Constantine’s character has a good arc throughout this film. Have you watched this movie? What are your thoughts? Do share that in the comments.

Until next time, Ciao ?

P.S: There are 11 movies before this one and I’d highly recommend you to read them first, if it piques your interest do watch the movies (DCAMU 1DCAMU 2DCAMU 3DCAMU 4DCAMU 5DCAMU 6DCAMU 7DCAMU 8DCAMU 9DCAMU 10, DCAMU 11) and come back.
