Eagle (2024) – Telugu Movie Review

Is it just me or does it seem like Ravi Teja is choosing scripts where he plays a bad guy at first, but then transforms into a good person towards the end? Whether it’s this movie, Tiger Nageswara Rao, Dhamaka, Khiladi, or Disco Raja, they all have something in common besides Ravi Teja. Are we seeing a pattern here? Ravi Teja gaaru, I’m not sure about your other fans, but for me, seeing you in similar roles is becoming boring and repetitive. Did Eagle fare better for me? Let’s delve deeper.

Cast: Ravi Teja, Anupama Parameshwaran, Kavya Thapar, Navdeep, Vinay Rai, Srinivas Avasarla, Madhoo and more
Crew: Karthik Gattamaneni (Director, Writer, Cinematography), Manibabu Karanam (Screenplay), Kamil Polcki and Karm Chawla (Cinematography), Uthura (Editor), Devzand (Music) and many others.

Nalini (played by Anupama Parameshwaran), a journalist, publishes a story about a type of Indian cotton that is popular in Europe but not in India. However, this angers the government as they cover up the story of the cotton mill and its owner. Nalini and we, the viewers, are puzzled by this cover-up and follow her as she uncovers the secrets behind it. We also discover the reason why a local MLA panics when Nalini talks about it.

Later, Nalini discovers that Sahadev Varma (played by Ravi Teja) is not only the owner of a cotton mill in Talakona but also a paid assassin. As the story progresses, we get to know more about Sahadev’s past, his reasons for being an assassin, and what caused him to change.

The movie is quite inconsistent, and the director attempted to build suspense by revealing the story layer by layer. However, since this is a Telugu film, we have seen this kind of story numerous times before, and certain elements were quite predictable. Despite this, Ravi Teja carried the movie on his shoulders, as he has done in many mediocre films in the past. The action sequences were well-choreographed, and both Ravi Teja and the Action Choreographer deserve credit for convincing us of them.

Suppose there’s a sniper who saves you accidentally and eventually saves you from a few threats. He keeps a watch on you and subtly lets you know that he is watching you. If the idea of someone keeping an eye on you creeps you out, then this movie might not be for you. However, if you buy the logic that the lead lady falls in love with the sniper and into this world, then this movie might work for you.

It is often a phenomenon among Telugu heroes that they get stuck in a loop of doing the same kind of movies, which can be repetitive, boring, and sometimes nauseating. However, Ravi Teja manages to convince his fans that his movies are different, even though they may have similar plots. Lately, his choice of films has not been great. While they come with great stories and some interesting messages, that is not enough to keep the audiences engaged. We need more variety in his choice of films.

You can give this movie a try and it is streaming on Amazon Prime Video Until the Next Movie, Ciao ????
