When we were Kids, our grandparents used to tell Moral stories and this is one such book.

This book is written about a 12-Year old Nooni, who is sent to her father’s Village Somanahalli,  on a Summer vacation. Being a curious kid she has many questions on her mind about birds, trees and all other stuffs. She also ended up learning Home remedies, cycling at the end of her vacation.

She is introduced  to 4 other teenagers, who belong to the village and their expedition starts from there. Although the book is for kids most of the time the Author started preaching stuffs instead of being light.

Karnataka lingo somehow grows on you after you finish reading couple of chapters. The Author tried to pen down the various emotions of a teenager. Kids could easily relate with Nooni and her activities. I for some strange reason find the book is inspired from Enid Blyton‘s the infamous ‘The Famous Five” series because various incidents correlates between these 2 books.

Take Away’s: Preserve Water bodies and Mother nature and Home remedies always comes handy.

Verdict: Morals should be light and not preachy or imposing.
